Many homeowner’s in Florida will experience a drywood termite problem in their home. Unlike subterranean termites which require excess moisture, drywood termites spend almost their entire life cycle inside the sound, dry wood upon which they feed.

Only when swarming flights occur, do young adults leave their galleries to begin new colonies elsewhere. Winged adults or “swarmers,” shed wings, piles of pellets, and galleries inside wood are typical signs of a drywood termite infestation.

Fumigation of a Structure is Recommended for Severe or Widespread Termite Infestations or when they are in Inaccessible Areas

Tent fumigation is a process that involves covering the house with canvas tarps and then introducing a gas fumigant inside of the structure. The fumigation process varies between 24 and 48 hours, depending on the situation.
